Somerset left-arm spinner Jack Leach was in club action again on Saturday, helping to skittle Weston Super Mare out cheaply to set up a comfortable victory for his Taunton Deane side.
Weston were dismissed for just 116 in 34.1 overs, Sam Trego top scoring with 34. Jack returned figures of 8-2-17-3 for Deane, two of his victims bowled and one adjudged lbw.
In reply Deane comfortably reached their total within 23.4 overs for the loss of three wickets, despite former Somerset fan favourite Charl Willoughby bowling an economical spell of nine overs for 35 runs and taking a caught and bowled chance to dismiss Deane’s wicket keeper and opener Sam Shaikh for 30.
The result leaves Deane third in the table on 85 points after seven games, behind leaders Frocester and second-place Bath on 97 and 95 points respectively.
