Cider watch! Jack stars for Taunton Deane with bat and ball!

West of England Premier Cricket League Premier One: Corsham CC v Taunton Deane CC, Station Road ground, Corsham – Saturday 6 June 2014

Somerset left-arm spinner Jack Leach hit 99 and took a wicket in 10 tidy overs for Taunton Deane on Saturday as they comfortably beat Corsham by 80 runs.

Batting at number four, Jack top scored for the Deane, making his runs off just 108 balls, hitting 12 fours and three sixes and sharing a partnership of 126 with wicket-keeper Sam Shaikh.

Jack was eventually run out going for what would have been his 100th run in the 50th over of this this West of England Premier Cricket League Premier One fixture at Corsham.

Taunton Deane ended their 50 overs on an imposing score of 312-5, with John Rogers making 95 and Shaikh an unbeaten 63.

In reply, Corsham’s top three all got starts, but Taunton Deane’s total proved beyond the home side, who were dismissed for 232 off 48.4 overs, to give the visitors a well-deserved victory.

Leach returned figures of 10-1-27-1, with Rob Pryke taking 4-54. You can see the full scorecard here:
