Cider watch: James leads St Andrews to regional T20 final spot

Somerset’s James Regan captained Taunton St Andrews CC through to the West of England regional final of the National T20 competition at the weekend.

James led his young side to a 13-run victory over Keynsham CC, as well as scoring 33 runs opening the batting alongside Rob Contreras who top scored with an unbeaten 81.

St Andrews made 173-3 in their 20 overs before restricting Keynsham to 160-6 when they came to bat. James had success with the ball too, picking up two wickets for 23 runs in three overs.

Afterwards the club proudly tweeted: “First time in a while we are through to the regional final of the National T20!! Great achievement from such a young side!!”

And an ecstatic James tweeted: “What a win from the @TSA_CC boys today was a privilege to have captained the boys #lukescatching #nationalT20 #regansbarmyarmy”
