Somerset County Cricket Club are taking over the Castle Green area in Taunton this Saturday 18 April, with a special “Cricket on the Green” event from 10am to 4pm.
A cricket net will be in place on the grassed area near the Castle Hotel and the Museum of Somerset which will allow fans, including children, the chance to practice their skills. Members of the club’s commercial team and mascot Stumpy will also be on hand with give-aways, competitions and prizes.
Club Captain Marcus Trescothick will be there between 10am and 12pm to face you in the nets, sign autographs, pose for pictures and offer advice to budding cricketers.
So, if you think you’ve got what it takes to bowl at a legend of the game make sure you join the club at Castle Green on Saturday.
As well as the cricket based entertainment, members of Somerset’s catering team will be using the event as a recruitment drive, so anyone looking for a summer job should make sure they come along on Saturday.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm and the club are looking forward to seeing you there!
The Blackdown Hills Market will also be operating during the day.
