Fan’s view into 2019: Annie Chave

  • Who are you, where do you live and how long have you supported Somerset?

Annie Chave and for 20 years

  • Overall how do you feel Somerset performed in 2018?

Great season in County and T20.

  • Who was your stand-out performer on the field during the season? You can have one for first-class and, if relevant, another for one-day.

Championship –James Hildreth

One Day – Lewis Gregory

  • What will be your stand-out memory of last season and why?

Trescothick reaching a century with a broken foot

  • Are you happy with our preparations building up to 2019 (recruitment, preseason, etc.)

Not really aware of it.

  • How do you think we will perform in 2019:
    • Specsavers County Championship (can Surrey be caught?)

We will win the cup

  • Royal London One Day Cup

We will win it

  • NatWest T20 Blast

We will get the treble

  • Who do you expect to be our most important player in 2019?

Tom Abell

  • Who is the young player you think can develop into a key player in the new season?

Tom Lammonby will but possibly Green this season.

  • Are you looking forward to watching Somerset under floodlights?

Excited? Not really but interested

  • In general what is your main hope for the 2019 season for Somerset?

Well obviously I want the treble & I think we are more than capable of doing it.  But mostly I would love to see our County Side winning the trophy for the loyal legend that is Trescothick.

We are a well-run club with some fantastic players and great support staff.   The impact Ben Warren has made on the live streaming should not be underestimated.  Somerset CC is an important club without being one of the 8 Test Match Grounds and our fanbase is strong.  Personally I would like to see the club focus on the County Championship Team and how we can maintain its strength and its following in the years to come with the impact of the 100.
