Speaking back in August when his benefit was announced, Pete said: “I am thrilled that Somerset have awarded me a benefit because it is the place where I was born and where I have loved playing my cricket. As a Somerset boy this makes me feel very, very proud.

“This is a dream come true for me and during the coming year I look forward to meeting Somerset supporters all over the county and will be hoping to crown my benefit season with some silverware.”
