Somerset’s General Committee was unanimous in its view to name Pete as the club beneficiary for the 2015 season, with Chief Executive Guy Lavender paying tribute to his immense contribution both on and off the field.
Speaking back in August when his benefit was announced, Pete said: “I am thrilled that Somerset have awarded me a benefit because it is the place where I was born and where I have loved playing my cricket. As a Somerset boy this makes me feel very, very proud.
“This is a dream come true for me and during the coming year I look forward to meeting Somerset supporters all over the county and will be hoping to crown my benefit season with some silverware.”
Further information regarding other Benefit Year Events will be announced shortly.
The Incider will also be publishing details of upcoming functions in aid of Pete’s benefit, so keep checking back here for details too.
