Somerset show their hand on ECB reforms

Somerset have today issued a club statement on the proposed ECB reforms for Cricket and, among many elements, includes the club supporting the city based franchise T20 tournament. The full statement is available on the official website with link here.

I am meeting Somerset Chairman Andy Nash on Thursday to interview him for The Incider and will consider asking any questions you may have for him about this statement or the club in general. If you have a genuine question then email me at info@thein-cider.co.uk for consideration.

There is clearly much to take on board here. On face value it appears the club have made a huge u-turn on the T20 eight team city based proposal and I cannot deny that I am a dissident on this subject and do not think this can work. I do, however, welcome any moves to make the game more available on free-to-air television, the development of the Women’s game and All Stars cricket for 5-8 year olds.

It should all make for an interesting chat.
