Somerset Seconds in semi-final action against Durham at Taunton Vale tomorrow (Friday)

Somerset Seconds play their biggest game of the season so far when they host Durham at Taunton Vale tomorrow in the semi-final of the 50 over Trophy competition.

The young Second XI side has enjoyed considerable success in all formats of the game this season and will be hoping to keep to reach the final that will be played next Thursday 27 August.

With the club’s younger players being given increasing responsibility in the first XI by Director of Cricket Matt Maynard, this is a real opportunity for the next generation to shine, show what they can do and put pressure on the first team for their places.

Somerset won through to the semis after cruising to an eight wicket victory over old rivals Gloucestershire at Bristol CC last week.
