The Incider first published in April 2014, and has since been offering Somerset County Cricket Club supporters a platform to share views, opinions and memories of all things cider county.
Completely independent, the site has attracted over 46,000 unique visitors since that launch and continues to enjoy a loyal reader base. Although an independent site Somerset CCC have been 100% supportive handing Incider writers access to players and officials to offer readers unique interviews and features. For three seasons The Incider has been accredited by the ECB too.
To further develop the site, The Incider has teamed up with Majestic Media, who are based in Swansea and work closely with a number of independent sports associations, including the Swansea City Supporters Trust and who currently run the independent Swansea City fan website www.scfc2.co.uk which gets over 4 million hits per year.
This new agreement will offer the site more robust hosting and will create commercial opportunities to safeguard and enhance the site’s future.
The Incider’s founder, Steve Jennings, said: “I am delighted to work with Majestic Media, who have designed, hosted and commercially developed some excellent sites for esteemed clients. Moving forward I will be able to concentrate on content and developing the small but talented pool of writers who have all offered some excellent articles about the club in the past.
“Somerset is a club undergoing change and there are exciting times ahead. Lee Cooper is the new CEO and I am delighted to see Andy Hurry returning to Somerset for 2018 as well.
“There will be new features and opportunities for fans to write articles and offer comments about the club in a professional and courteous environment.
“So watch this space!”
Speaking on behalf of Majestic Media, James White, himself a Somerset supporter and Platinum Member of the club, said: “I have worked with Majestic Media and helped build some excellent sites within the football space and, as a Somerset cricket fan, have been impressed with how The Incider has grown organically since its launch.
“However I feel there is a huge opportunity for Somerset’s fans to interact and, having looked at other sites, am convinced The Incider can be the perfect platform to achieve this.
“Myself and the team at Majestic Media are certainly looking forward to playing a big part in growing The Incider to achieve greater success.”
